Taste of Taboo is an independent photography magazine by Martin Peterdamm. It brings together portraiture, nude photography and editorial series, with a particular interest in alternative styles and the people who make them their own.
What is Taste of Taboo?
The magazine is a place for photo stories with room to unfold. A series can move between a carefully lit portrait, an everyday setting and a more experimental image. What connects the work is an interest in character, atmosphere and personal expression.
Tattoos, alternative fashion and influences from Berlin’s subcultures are part of that visual language. Each person brings a different presence to the photographs, and each editorial follows its own direction.
The photographer behind the magazine
I’m Martin Peterdamm, a photographer based in Berlin and the person behind Taste of Taboo. This is where I publish my personal editorial work and bring individual shoots together as a magazine.
Berlin often provides the setting: a studio, an apartment, a backyard or a staircase. I’m drawn to the way a location changes the mood of a photograph, and to the small moments that appear when someone feels comfortable enough to be themselves.

How the stories are made
A photo story takes shape through a conversation between photographer and model: ideas, styling, location, light and the way a shoot develops. The edit then gives those individual photographs a rhythm and a place within the series.
Trust, respect and clear boundaries matter throughout that process. Collaboration leaves space for the person in front of the camera to contribute their own ideas and decide what they are comfortable with.

This website is the home of Taste of Taboo: a place to discover the work, browse published stories and find your way through the archive. It also connects the magazine’s galleries, membership and community in one place.
